The month of January comes to an end with a 5th Saturday, which means the Good Brothers are taking another trip to the Multiverse of DC Animation. This month they return to the Silver Age world of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Cal and Liam review the episode “Triumvirate of Terror” which features a team-up of both the DC Trinity as well as their fiendish foes in Lex Luthor, The Joker, and Cheetah. Hear the hosts break down a myriad of homages and easter eggs, thicc Lex Luthor, the deep cut of Prez Rickard, and musical references to Wonder Woman ’77. Ep. 130 – Elseworlds – Independence Day
Wrapping up the month of October, the Good Brothers elected to give the listeners a treat, with a much-requested review of the Young Justice pilot episode “Independence Day.” Cal and Liam discuss their memories from the debut nearly 10 years ago, the Emmy award-winning designs and the unique character looks used for this series. The hosts also discuss various familiar voice actors used including a pair of very familiar heroes recast for this series and a theme song that may or may not remind one of them of a 6 o’clock news theme. Additionally, the hosts have a HUGE announcement with regards to next week’s episode as they preview just what they’ll be covering in the month of November!

Ep. 124 – Elseworlds – Beware My Power Part I & II
Week 3 of Green Lantern Month here at the DCAU Review sees the Good Brothers taking a trip to the Elseworlds with a review of 2011’s Green Lantern: The Animated Series premiere episode “Beware My Power.” The hosts talk about some of the origins of this series including its’ tie in with a much-ballyhooed live-action film and why this show didn’t get the chance it deserved, including peg warming action figures at Toys-R-Us! On to the show, Cal & Liam talk about the choice to introduce the newly-minted Red Lantern Corps as the main antagonists, how executive producer Bruce Timm’s character designs translate into 3D animation, an extraordinary amount of nods to a galaxy far, far away and why the most recognizable voice of the episode is both the most jarring, and best choice for this episode! The penultimate edition of Elseworlds month of 2020, features one of the lesser-known and appreciated DC Animated shows, Legion of Superheroes and the Good Brothers tackle the pilot episode “Man of Tomorrow” on this week’s podcast. Ep. 96 – Elseworlds – The Mad Scientist & The Mechanical Monsters
Week 2 of our second annual Elseworlds month is here and we are taking a ride in the way back machine to 1941 and reviewing a pair of the first Superman animated shorts ever produced with the Max Fleischer Superman cartoons “Superman” and “The Mechanical Monsters.” This week our hosts share their first exposure to these classic cartoons, give a little bit of a history lesson about their origin, and then proceed to give a full scorecard for each of them. Ep. 95 – Elseworlds – Superman: Red Son
As the month of February draws to a close, our hosts are leaving the DCAU and kicking off our second annual Elseworlds month. This time the Good Brothers will be doing all Elseworlds Superman tales, and kicking things off with the brand new Superman: Red Son movie by Warner Brothers Animation, with executive producer Bruce Timm. There are plenty of ties to the DCAU as you’ll hear as the hosts break down some of the differences between the movie and source material, why some of the changes may work, while others leave character motivations questionable at best and why the complete changes left one host particularly sour. The Good Brothers put a bow on their Elseworlds of Batman month on this week’s episode. All month, the guys have been celebrating the 80th anniversary of The Dark Knight by reviewing various incarnations of Batman in animated form. This week they wrap up with the pilot episode of 2013 3D-animated show Beware The Batman.
