Ep. 77 – STAS – Heavy Metal

The month of October is nearly over and with that, it’s almost time for the Good Brothers to turn over a new leaf and change DCAU shows. However, our hosts have one last episode of Superman: The Animated Series in 2019 and it’s a fun one. This week’s episode entitled “Heavy Metal” is the direct sequel to the very first episode the boys covered this month. This week’s discussion includes a favorable plot for introducing someone capable of aiding Superman against Metallo, some memories of the introduction of the Steel character, a soundtrack with similar tones to one of the hosts’ favorites, the question of how a metal helmet can show expression and a preview for the show being covered in the month of November. All of this, plus Liam broadcasts from inside the Steel suit and Cal acts as if it’s completely normal…on today’s episode of the DCAU Review!

Ep. 63 – JL – Hereafter Part I & II

Another week in July and another review from the second season of Justice League from your favorite Good Brothers. This week’s episode entitled “Hereafter” has the DCAU in a tizzy as Superman apparently dies. The guys discuss the ridiculous fun of this episode, compared with previous silly/bad episodes, Corey Burton pulling triple voice duty, where this episode could’ve used Glen Murakami and some #PonchoMovement discussion along with a full scorecard await on this week’s DCAU Review!

Ep. 13 – STAS – Tools of The Trade & Father’s Day

Continuing with their theme episodes, Cal & Liam start on the road to Apokolips in this, their 13th episode. The brothers review Tools of the Trade, which lays the groundwork for some of the most intense episodes of Superman: The Animated Series, with the introduction of Jack Kirby’s Fourth World characters. While this episode deals more with what’s happening on Earth, it gives viewers a sneak peek at future mega-baddie Darkseid. The second reviewed episode, Father’s Day, introduces the audience to Darkseid’s son, Kalibak and give Cal & Liam a chance to discuss whether or not he’s a sympathetic character. The brothers discuss the normal categories as well as the #DumbKents, Darkseid’s cool heel bad guy, and a lack of musical themes for villains thus far compared to Batman: The Animated Series.
