Ep. 129 – JLU – Ultimatum

The Good Brothers are back again with another Justice League Unlimited review, this week covering another pivotal episode in the Cadmus-arc. “Ultimatum” features a lot of tributes and homages to older DC Comics animation and Cal & Liam discuss those along with the tragic loose ends from this episode, Aquaman’s characterization being a reference for Jason Mamoa’s portrayal, and Andrea Romano being ahead of the curve when it came to racial sensitivity and awareness in voice casting. Ep. 121 – Elseworlds – Night of The Batmen!

The fifth Saturday of August 2020 gives the Good Brothers a chance at reviewing an Elseworlds tale from Batman: The Brave and the Bold. This week’s episode titled “Night of The Batmen!” reveals what would happen if Batmen was put on the injured list for a time and a few other heroes had to cover for him. Cal & Liam briefly recap the origins of this lighter take on Batman and then talk about the incredibly earworm-y opening musical number, the various homages to different Batman designs, Aquaman’s buffoonish characterization, anfuncovering some of the legendary voice-actors portraying some of the heroes. They also talk about a character featured who just so happened to this week make his triumphant return to comics in Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok’s “Three Jokers” miniseries, which voice actor should always be cast as one particular character and a sneak peek at what’s coming up on the schedule for the exciting month of September! All of this and more on a brand-new DCAU Review!

Ep. 32 – JL – The Enemy Below Part I & II

This week on the DCAU Review, the good brothers celebrate the upcoming release of the Worlds of DC film “Aquaman” with a review of the Justice League episode “The Enemy Below.” This episode revolves around a struggle between the King of Atlantis and his brother for the right to be the leader of the underwater kingdom. Liam and Cal discuss the layered plot complete with discussions on Hamlet, the Lion King, and the unfortunate choice to give Aquaman a mullet. Plus plenty of #CapeMovement,  a discussion on Aquaman the warrior vs. Aquaman the Super Friend, the excellent use of the DC villain catalog and what the guys believe may be the very best scene in Justice League history.
